Crit Feed Back & Review

The Crit presentation turned out to be one of my favourite presentations so far, I would compare it to the digital media context presentation (If that is the right name). This was mostly due to confidence and practice. The presentation during practice was 15mins and 45 second long however during the presentation day it only lasted 12 mins mainly because i missed a few points on slides 3 and 4. along with my mouth going dry and it was become hard to talk.

For this presentation i took on the feedback from the last presentation. I aimed to clarify what I would be producing and the medium was 3D. Instead of my previous presentations I was not worried about the content I had produced in the form of visuals  and the length of the presentation. Instead I focused on conveying the theory and research found the frame work made from it and my interpretations. I also had aimed to convey how i was using the frame work and how it is feeding into my animation.
I finished feeling confident on what i had discussed and i was able to listen and not twist the feedback. Though there was a moment when I was worried that  I was about to be told I was not producing enough for the scope of this year. Instead It was concern to the scope of work I was trying to take on interns of the subtle movements and acting concepts within the animation.  Though I could not give reassurance to this comment. I do prefer know my project might be to big over being too small.

In this presentation I showed what I had of a 3D version of the animatic but instead of talking about the story I talked about what this process was achieving and how my theory and frame work was being applied. This part of presentation help to clarify some areas I had missed  earlier in the presentation and also allowed  for comments on the camera work I was using. During the feedback I was given the opportunity to talk about body postures and their names along with demonstrating them, This allowed me to be even more positive from the outcome.

I was also given advice toward talking about the case study and the character within the project, The structure of my presentation produce a cut-off of relevance between my case study and progress in my project. For the final presentation I was recommended to started from the beginning and talk about the character more and clarify who they are. This is a very valid point as  in the previous presentation I had willing withheld this information until this presentation. This was because I wanted the information to be conveyed by the artefact I was producing.  I am glad for the choices made for approaching this presentation. I was able to clarify exactly what I was doing how it was affecting my characters an animation along with how it was changing my way of thinking.

For this presentation i also took the time to record both the presentation and the Feedback however i am unable to upload the files.

Notes for the next presentation and progression:
  • Start from the beginning talking about who the characters are and lead into the project.
  • Water for dry mouth as this presentation will be longer.
  • Be selective over what I animate first, Achieve the key points of the project and the animation that gives these points.
  • ·       Consider investigating acting for the camera. It may be useful to be able to talk about this because I am taken on multiple roles which can affect the perspective I can create. (Animators Perspective, Director perspective, Story boarders Perspective)
  •  Using the process as a discussion of my project.
