So for the first half of the day I finally brought out my
Tablet again so I could begin my development into Digital Drawing.
However, As always when Its came to
drawing on the Pc my mind goes as blank
as the White page in front of me. When an idea does come to my head then every
problem that I experience drawing Traditionally comes in with a vengeance in Digital form,
- The sketchy style I enjoy look terrible Digital.
- Clear lack of control with tablet and pen.
So I spent the better half of the day getting frustrated as
I attempted to draw with some basic you tube videos on digital drawing playing
the background.
Bellow is basically myself slowly trying to get used to
using the tablet, Along with any idea of what I wanted to draw slowly flying
out the window. Eventually I decided to try drawing a little of one of my
character from the game but being unable to refine details like i do in my
normal sketches they drawings didn't get very far.
It rapidly reached my deadline for this task for the day but
I didn't want the above to be my only visual representation. So bellow is somewhat
of a self-portrait drawing from a photo of me from my sister's wedding. Interestingly enough I would not have gotten
this far with the drawing if It had not been for me starting with my glasses
which in my own opinion held the drawing together.
As far as I can tell from my own observations, The length
and width of the head could use some work and I will always hate the mouth. Hopefully
in the days to come Ill continue with drawing on the tablet and my ability on
this medium will improve.
So some of the of the better notes of this process that i discovered: Changing the background to a sandy color and the drawing color to a more grey than black helps for me to coupe with drawing digitally. I was able to figure out how i prefer the set up of my Tablet, Which is to have it in a portrait setup this is because it feel more like I'm working in a sketchbook this way.
Further improvement steps, Keep Practicing, Find a way to keep the idea and visualizations in my head, Find more videos or DVDs on the processes of digital drawing.
