Animation Test Two people with contrasting personalities
interacting
Earlier today I
finished planning out the movements and base of the next animation test. For
this Test I will be aiming to have two characters meeting for the first time,
Lilly being a shy girl who is observing
her peers without the confidence to approach them While Mary is must more open and assertive. Mary's Stance and
movement are open and use allot of energy and her arcs will be much broader than Lilly's.
Lilly on the other hand will be more closed off and protective of herself she
will have a stronger sense of timing during thought.
Another point of research I
decided to conduct was reviewing Eye's ,Eye blinks and Eye brows During the beginning of "Up" when both Carl and
Ellie are children. The reason for this was to find out When, What and Why were
they blinking at the time. The notes in my pad indicate that Carl would mostly
blink in reaction to Ellie, The times he would blink revolve around his chain of thought being
broken(Being startled), Turing of his head along with shifting his gaze to
focus on another object. along with the realization/Contemplating which fueled
his movement.
On the other hand Ellie's Blinks often occurred to keep the sense
of life in her face, Emphasis on a
change of expression and the what she was saying. other times she blinked was
when moving closer to Carl and when she shifted her gaze onto an object she
wanted to pick up. After deducting this information I believe I will have more control
and a better idea on when Lilly and Mary will blink.
The final part towards the development of this research
comes from the book "Character Animation Fundamental: Developing Skills
for 2D and 3D character animation".
The subject aims toward Animation of Acting - Body language. However it was the four basic Modes which drew my attention. The titles of these
are Responsive, Reflective, Fugitive and Combative These four modes are created through a
combination of four types of postures. These are mentioned as open and closed body postures along with forward and backward body postures. The reason behind my interest in this topic
is how it allows a guide toward visualizing the posture of your character depending
on the state of mind your character is in.
